Coaching! Not for me ! Not for my team

Coaching has gone from fad to fundamental. Leaders and organizations have come to understand how valuable it can be, and they’re adding “the ability to coach and develop others” to the ever-growing list of skills they require in all their managers. In theory, this means more employee development, more efficiently conducted. But in reality, few managers know how to make coaching work.

According to the 2010 Executive Coaching Survey, conducted by the Conference Board, 63% of organizations use some form of internal coaching, and half of the rest plan to. Yet coaching is a small part of the job description for most them. Nearly half spend less than 10% of their time coaching others.

    Hello Maris,

Could you please share a video of your presentation just to see your presentation style?

Also, you have proposed a 20minute talk about why coaching is important and talking about coaching techniques. Don't you think that it's too short a duration to speak about this topic? What are your toughts? Maybe if you could add in more info about what specifically you are planning on speaking about might help. Looking forward to your response!

      Hi Maris,

The topic is interesting, but can you update the proposals by clarifying the below questions:

      • If I understood you correctly, its about the "managers" being "coaches" and how much important the same is not specifically about "coaching". If yes, can you make it more clear in the proposal abstract?
      • In the outline, you had mentioned "game"? Can you clarify that too?
      • Also share the details about your previous session details, if any.
