'Scaling Leadership' for 'Scaling Agile' at Enterprise Level
Agile-Scrum and XP Practices are mostly confined towards project and team level. The focus of these principles and practices get centred around delivery of the project/product. Many times, the process aspects and mechanics take precedence over Agile-Scrum principles of Self Organizing Teams, Servant Leadership etc.
There is a lot, which happens beyond project and team level in the organization (specifically Portfolio and Program level activities), which drives projects and teams. Agile and Lean principles do not scale automatically at these levels. Leadership has to play a significant role in leading the change for scaling Agile and Lean principles at an enterprise level.
Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) puts “Leadership” at the foundation. It provides a guidance through Lean/Agile Leadership principles. This talk will provide general overview of these principles as well as experience sharing in adopting SAFe in my organization.

Introduction and context setting – 5 min
Scaling Leadership – 30 min
Experience Sharing and Q&A – 10 min
The core learning outcome is to understand the significance of “Leadership” in driving the Agile transformation journey in the organization. Introduction of Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) and some insights from my experience in adoption of SAFe esp. around Leadership alignment across business and IT teams.
