I’m an Idiot, Please Help Me

With high quality templates available at $29 a pop and the industry as a whole maturing, aesthetically pleasing design is becoming a commodity, if not already so. Informed design however, less so. The role of research and data as a means to inspire design (not dictate it) is increasingly important as customer experiences are more and more sophisticated and in turn, customers expectations exceedingly high. We’ll examine the disciplines and work that skirt the core visual and UI design, by looking at some commonly used (and not-so-common) research methods that are critical to informed design, trending design affordances, as well as technical considerations to ensure maximum conversion and effect.
