Whether you are a project manager, agile coach, delivery manager, CEO, or ruler of the world - one thing is true; you have a personal brand. The real question is do you utilize your brand effectively and to your benefit?

The problem is that the only help out there to utilize and unlock the power of your brand are multi step programs and how-to's. This workshop is neither one of those things instead you will be taught and engage in an exercise that is designed to transform your brand in an easy and visual way. It will challenge you to look at yourself from the eyes of not only your own but those that are looking for your services. Using game theory attendees will work through their own personal brand by first becoming self aware, then looking at their vision of tomorrow and finally creating an easy strategy to enable the continuous improvement necessary to unlock the power of your personal brand.

In addition to a personal exercise you will be taught how to apply the same tool for team building, product innovation and development as well as department and company transformation.

Come get your hands dirty and learn a tool and technique you can start using today to improve you, your career, and your teams.

Paul Boos - Understanding How Collaboration Improves Productivity

    90 mins
    Workshop
    Intermediate

We've all heard how we need to collaborate better, but what does this really mean?  What results can I expect to see with better collaboration?

This workshop will demonstrate how productivity increases with greater collaboration and how to create better a more collaborative environment.  In the session you will not only have an opportunity to experience this relationship with a relatively simple learning game, but we'll look behind the curtain at the science and how some various behavioral models explain why this relationship exists.  We'll then explore some tactics you can use to help teams collaborate better and close with an exploration of what either helps or hinders collaboration and how you can use this information as well as the game with your teams.

If you have an interest in improving productivity of your team or the teams you serve, then this is the session for you.

Kings, Queens, Presidents, Pharaohs, Executives, Zars, Dictators... The list could continue. The one thing these all have in common is that they lead people, or at least they have authority over people.

Each one may have a different approach; some may earn their title, while others may be given it at birth. None become leaders until they chose it.

The corporate world is no different; from managers and team leads to rock-star employees some are given their titles others earn them. To make the jump from management to leadership we must simply make a choice.

In this session you will not learn how to “be a leader” however you will be made aware of tools and techniques that if you choose it will be the foundation for becoming a powerful leader.

This session is designed to challenge traditional definitions and beliefs while providing the infrastructure to. The tools and techniques are based in over 50 years of leadership study and mastery and can be applied across any industry as well as both professionally and personally.

Are you ready to make the choice to stop being a manager and start being a leader?

In the Agile community, we often talk of Servant Leadership, but this notion often doesn't resonate with leaders that have a history for more command and control based approaches. While Servant Leaders exhibit behaviors preferred for leading and supporting teams, the transition can be difficult to grasp. In order to help leaders understand and take action, I have merged the concepts of Servant Leader with a participatory style to become Facilitative Leadership.  This provides a means for better helping people understand more of what they can take action on.

This talk will help people understand how anyone can become a facilitative leader with a specific focus on people who need help in transitioning their thinking from typical command and control approaches to those that are more facilitative. So if you have been struggling how to serve your teams better, let's reframe how we think of approaching the actions we can take.
