Business Agility through a learning organization
Today's fast-moving world requires something different from organizations: agility. In order to keep a competitive edge and being able to respond to change at a faster pace, organizational change and learning needs to adapt to that new pace. This requires a learning organization with a learning culture, in which people can grow and craftsmanship can be fostered.
Organizations need to make this change as the world is also changing in a sense that we're moving away from the industrial revolution into a knowledge revolution. In this changed environment, simpler jobs disappear and more jobs arise in the creative, knowledge-working paradigm. If an organization is not able to adapt to these changes quickly and continuously it will become harder and harder for them to stay competitive, both for customers and for (potential) employees.
