AVINASH SHRIMALI - Mangle - Systematically introducing Chaos into your Applications
45 Mins
Demonstration
Beginner
Mangle is an open-source project that enables you to run chaos engineering experiments seamlessly against applications and infrastructure components to assess resiliency and fault tolerance. It is designed to introduce faults with very little pre-configuration and can support any infrastructure that you might have including K8S, Docker, vCenter or any Remote Machine with ssh enabled. With its powerful plugin model, you can define a custom fault of your choice based on a template and run it without building your code from scratch.
In this workshop, you will learn how to inject faults on infrastructure and on a running Java application.
1. What got you started/interested in Agile?
Agile is one of the best platform to learn and share your knowledge. At agile I will be sharing my knowledge and experience with Chaos Engineering which is earned by developing and using mangle in last few years.
2. What do you think is the biggest challenge faced by the Agile community today?
I am not really very much sure about it.
3. Tell us about the session(s) you will be presenting at the conference and why did you choose those topics?
There will be a workshop of 90 minutes which is about Mangle. Initial few minutes I will be giving an overview about Mangle which will be followed by hands-on session where users will perform live fault injections on the machines and on running Java application.
Chosen Mangle to share my knowledge and experience with Chaos Engineering which is earned by developing and using mangle in last few years.
4. What are some of the key takeaways from your session(s) at Agile India?
You will understand, experience and learn about Chaos Engineering. You will have hands-on with Mangle to inject faults on infrastructure and on a running Java application. This is an opportunity to learn how you can leverage Mangle to certify resiliency of you product.
5. Which are your favourite sessions at Agile India this year? (Sessions that you are looking forward to attending)
On Chaos Engineering Day I would like to attend most of the other sessions.
6. Any personal remarks/message you want to share with the Agile Community?
This is the first time I am going to attend the conference and will be representing Mangle as well, really thrilled and excited about it.
