Karan Rai / Giovanni Asproni - Get ready for the storm - Remote Event storming in action

    90 Mins
    Workshop
    Beginner

Event storming started as a method to model domains more effectively. However, it is now emerging as an effective method for a variety of use cases ranging from product discovery to business model planning.

In this workshop, you will get a chance to experience remote event storming on a simple, but interesting business case. You will learn the foundational concepts of event storming and gain first hand experience in its practical application in a remote context.

1. What got you started/interested in modern software development methods?

I've always been interested in finding better ways to do things, so I've always being looking for better ways to create software since the beginning of my career—almost 30 years ago.

2. What do you think is the biggest challenge faced by the software product engineering community today?

Creating quality products. Despite all advances in tools and methods, the quality of typical applications is quite low, with may applications showing defects that could be easily found with a minimum amount of testing, and attention to detail.

3. What do you think are the most exciting developments in software product engineering today?

There is so much happening, that is difficult to choose.

4. Why did you choose the topic(s) you will be speaking about at the conference?

Our company was, in a sense, a pioneer in online Event Storming sessions, well before COVID-19 and work-from-home times. It was by necessity, as we are based in India, but have clients all over the world.

5. What are some of the key takeaways from your session(s) at Agile India?

Event Storming can be done in a remote setting in a very productive manner.

6. Which sessions are you particularly looking forward to attending at Agile India this year?

There are many sessions I would like to attend. I think I'll choose at the last moment.
