We will discuss the basic patterns and processes of sociocracy, a system of self-governance that can be used in combination with agile practices to scale self-organization across all decisions made in an organization. This interactive class will cover topics such as patterns of organizing and consent decision-making. So come prepared to learn and participate in the discussion!

1. What got you started/interested in modern software development methods?
I lived in Chicago when the startup scene really took off with Groupon leading the charge. Started hanging around interesting people and ended up competing in the first Lean Startup Machine competition in Chicago in 2008. I still remember a team mate mentioning to me, Lean is WHAT you build, Agile is HOW you build it. Over the years, I've had the privilege of working with amazing (generous) people, many from the XP crowd. And I'm privileged to have connected deeply with the Agile Fluency project.
