Scrum is lightweight, simple to understand and difficult to master. Have you ever wondered why the first two descriptions are topsy-turvy to the third one? What makes Scrum so much difficult to be mastered?

The answer is, Scrum requires a lot of discipline that is driven by Values.

Scrum, being an empirical process, could not be mastered unless or until the team disciplines itself by inculcating the Scrum Values. Scrum Master, being the servant-leader of the team, holds this great responsibility of inculcating the Scrum Values among the team members. These values, then, have to be imparted to the team members in a way that makes an impact. Scrum Masters should walk an extra mile to look beyond his usual role and start measuring the scrum values. When measured, the team members are sensitized to be more empowered, self-organized and relentless towards delivering the best of what they can to lift the bar of business value sprint over sprint.
