Robert Virding is one of the co-inventors of Erlang and was an early member of the Ericsson Computer Science Lab. He took part in the original system design and contributed much of the original libraries, as well as to the current compiler.

He has always been interested in language design and implementation and while at the lab he also did a lot of work on the implementation of functional and logic languages and on garbage collection. More recently he has done a number of implementations of different languages in Erlang, and on the Erlang ecosystem, which have been spread and used externally.

He is now Principal Language Expert at Erlang Solutions Ltd. and is regularly invited to teach and present throughout the world.

John Hughes

John Hughes is co-founder and CEO of Quviq AB, and the creator of QuickCheck. He was also involved in the design of Haskell being co-chair of the committee defining the language. He currently divides his time between his academic involvement as Chair of Chalmers University, Gothenburg, and QuviQ, the company promoting QuickCheck.

John Hughes has been a functional programming enthusiast for more than thirty years, at the Universities of Oxford, Glasgow, and since 1992 Chalmers University in Gothenburg, Sweden. He served on the Haskell design committee, co-chairing the committee for Haskell 98, and is the author of more than 75 papers, including "Why Functional Programming Matters", one of the classics of the area. With Koen Claessen, he created QuickCheck, the most popular testing tool among Haskell programmers, and in 2006 he founded Quviq to commercialise the technology using Erlang.

Morten Kromberg

Morten Kromberg has been developing applications and tools for developers in APL since 1979 – almost ¾ of the time that has passed since the first APL interpreter saw the light of day in 1966 (coincidentally, this is roughly the same fraction of his own life). Amongst other things, he was the CTO of Adaytum Software from 1995 to 2000 (http://www.thefreelibrary.com/Adaytum... where he was responsible for the development of a highly successful business planning solution based upon APL, which was subsequently acquired by Cognos and is currently known as IBM Cognos 8 Planning.

Since 2005, Morten has been the CTO of Dyalog Ltd (www.dyalog.com) , which has become the fastest-growing vendor of APL interpreters, based in Bramley (Hampshire), UK. Morten is a frequent speaker at APL conferences, and presented a paper titled “Arrays of Objects” at 2007 the symposium on Dynamic Languages, on the integration of object and array paradigms in Dyalog APL (http://portal.acm.org/citation...).

Roger Hui is a co-designer (with Kenneth E. Iverson) and original implementer of the J programming language, a dialect of APL.  Currently he is an implementer for Dyalog APL.  His passion is writing beautiful and fast code.
