What the Restaurant Business Taught Me About Agility

In my past life, I worked as a restaurant manager.  As I moved into software development, I’ve come to realize that the restaurant industry is probably one of the most agile world we can imagine.  With a 6 hour project and 2 hours long sprints, a small team manages to deliver to hundreds of customers while keeping each individual interests at heart.  During this talk, I will show you what I’ve learned from my experience in restaurants and how you can apply them in your everyday life as a software development professional to deliver an amazing customer experience.


Outline/Structure of the Talk

In this session we will compare the main steps of a restaurant service and compare those to a software project.  We will also highlight some easy tricks to help you deliver a great customer experience.
