SAFe from the trenches - Insights and Anti-Patterns
If you're working in a larger enterprise that is doing at least some form of Agile then the chances are that you've heard of the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe). SAFe was recently voted #1 in 'Scaling Methods and Approaches' in VersionOne's 11th Annual State of Agile Report.
SAFe offers a lot of guidance around Agile @ scale but no matter what framework you ultimately decide to implement, it's important to understand the core elements of the framework to ensure they aren't being missed in the overall implementation. Without an appreciation of the essentials, it's all too easy to inadvertently fall into anti-patterns that will ultimately detract from the benefits that could otherwise be realised.
In this session we'll talk about the 10 key elements of Essential SAFe and see how these are broadly applicable to all scaled frameworks. We'll then do a self-assessment and reflect on our findings with the broader group.
