Leading an Agile Implementation and the Culture Change that Results
Leaders have an important role in setting the tone for an organization. When it comes to leading change, leaders must ensure that the work environment can support the ideation, experimentation, and eventual implementation of new concepts necessary to improving the organization and it end products. This involves displaying different leadership styles, necessary for leading process improvements and changing the organizational culture. I will discuss some of the methods and techniques I employed leading the implementation of Agile at USGS's mapping activity, and how these were critical for ensuring that employees were able to discover, explore new Agile methods that eventually became common practice.
