This session will explain the need for Product owners to work together as a collaborative team, visiting customers, learning from the market, developing new backlog and becoming more cross-functional in order to deliver really impactful solutions to our customers.


Outline/Structure of the Workshop

3 min - Intro of Kim and session

15 min- Connection - quick start exercise to hit the need for different perspectives with our customers

30 min - Interactive content including perspective, defining team, explaining backlog and responsibilities

45 min- exercise to apply learnings

10 min- Close and Questions

Learning Outcome

  • By the end of the session, participants will understand the importance of a group of Product Owners working together as a team.
  • Complete an exercise on identifying a way to see the product from multiple perspectives in order to build what is needed.
  • Understand the importance of cross-functional Product Owners (not just teams) who can work on different pieces of the product.
  • Ensure that all of the teams are working on the most important pieces of the backlog while still attending to the interests of the team.

Prerequisites for Attendees

Solid understanding of Scrum roles, events, artifacts. Understand key Product Owner responsibilities and methods for creating a backlog.
