Agile Antidotes To Kill Anti Agile Patterns

In this proposed session , I cover how as Change Agents we need to administer doses of anitdotes to kill the poison of Agile Anti patterns.

The talk will focus on

  • Practical impediments faced by Agile Coaches
  • Leadership Style to administer the antidote
  • How to make sure anti patterns don't relapse
  • How to prepare agile antidotes and change the composition per teams

The talks uses analogy from the field of medical sciences and co-relates those practices into the Agile world I would bring to the forum the real life coaching challenges faced and how those were mitigated and removed with these antidotes

Outline/Structure of the Presentation

  1. Initial talk for 20 - 25 minutes
  2. Small Exercise / Game
  3. Understanding Key learning
  4. Q & A

Learning Outcome

As Change agents, we are stuck with a problem which appears to be an Anti pattern. We try to apply the solution which we applied in previous problems , however the results are totally opposite.

My talk will help participants identify the different styles and approaches we need to apply towards rectifying and removing Anti Agile patterns in their teams.

Objective of the session is to give them the approach towards solution so that this key stays with them to open the locks put by Anti Agile Patters

Target Audience

Scrum Masters, Change Agents, Agile Coaches & Leadership Leads

    hi Ashutosh,

Thanks for your submission. The topic looks interesting, but would it be possible to share the list of challenges/anti-patterns you will be discussing. If you can share the draft slides, that would best.

      Hi,

Please find below the link to my  draft version of slides of my proposed talk Agile Antidotes to kill Anti Agile patterns

Agile Antidotes To Kill Anti Agile patterns

The slides have got speaker notes where I have tried to explain my flow of the presentation for each slide. So please feel to download the ppt version and go through the speaker notes of the same.

      Quick Summary of the slides

Slide # 2 : Ice Breaker Trying to convey here that if we decide to collaborate, boundaries blur out and anything is possible

Slide # 3 : Definition of what is Anti pattern, why it is a risk and the definition of Antidote and how is it prepared. Have taken an example of real life situation of reducing weight and stay healthy

Slide # 4 : Talks about the 4 main antidotes I plan to discuss in the proposed talk along with the repercussions if we do not handle the anti patterns. I might have 1-2 more antidotes also

      Slide # 5 to 8 (WIP)

Slide 5 is currently ready and shows  the approach I will take to explain each anti pattern, its root cause , implication and how the antidote of the slide is prepared

Slides 6 To 8 will be exactly  structured like Slide # 5 , each of which will have antidote for the respective anti pattern.

Request you to please share your feedback on the above slides.

I like the topic and that you are not just presenting the problem, but also potential solutions.

I think your slides would benefit if they were not so overloaded with information. For instance, I had to take a second look at slide 5, because the the anti-patterens were visual, colorful and took up 3/4 of the slide. The solutions were small, monotonous and located in the bottom quarter of the slide.
