I'm a technology executive who enjoys building team, products and companies.
The bulk of my career (18 years) was with Solution 6 and MYOB, of which 11 were part of the MYOB executive team. For 9 of tthe 11 years I was the General Manager of one of the business units, and in the final 2 years I led the product management and product development team (EX), with the goal of aligning and developing an organisation product and tech strategy while bringing together 4 developments teams together to work as one. It was a great challenge and incrediby rewarding.
I am currently working for myself doing a diverse range of things. Most recently I've been consulting to a tech startup and a multinational business, investing (series A) in tech companies and working on an advisor board.
I am married to a beautiful woman and very lucky to have 3 great kids (11, 14 & 16) and a naughty dog. I'm Sydney based and have far to many hobbies (guitar, craft brewing, motorcycing, flyfishing, skiing, sports addict) then time will permit.

There is a divide between engineering (inc product management) and executives. There is lack of understanding of each others role, their respective mindsets and how to collaborate and work together. This ultimately leads to a lack of trust, poor decision making, ineffectiveness and an inability to culturally move forward.
This is a topic that does not get enough discussion or action. It's time to change this.
