Inquiry Is the Answer: Taming Wicked Issues
45 Mins
Talk
Beginner
It has become evident that we live in a world of uncertainty. When there is no one perfect solution for problems we are facing today. We can currently see this as the world is affected by COVID-19. Every country is dealing with it differently. Using different strategies and prevention plans, each country is getting different results. Even when the same strategy is used, the effect of each country will vary.
There seems to be no solution.
If you think about it, Agile transformations have similar qualities. There is no guide or framework that has a 100% success rate. This is why Agile Coaches and Scrum Masters and Change Agents still have a job. (lol)
(笑)As a person working in this role, did you ever feel that you have all the answers to the impediments of an organization? Or just like me, there are times when you had no idea how to proceed? That sometimes the answer you can only give is I don't know, we'll see or it depends?
This talk is not about finding answers, when the answers are not enough, maybe we should look at it differently. This is what I would introduce from here.

The Art of Mindful Communication.
45 Mins
Talk
Intermediate
Individuals and Interactions over Processes and Tools is the first statement of the Agile Manifesto of Software Development. However, we seemed to have focused more on the latter than the former. This session reintroduces us to the concept of communicating, and how can we develop a better approach in how we interact with the people in our everyday lives.

Donna Lee started her career as a Software Engineer before being introduced to Scrum. She currently holds a CSP-SM certification.
Her Scrum experience started in 2011 with a team of five people, struggling to get the hang of the framework and become a self-organising team. This is where she pivoted to pursue her agile journey as a trainer, facilitator and mentor to Scrum Masters, teams, and leaders who are new to this mindset.Originally from the Philippines, she is now living in Japan, facing new challenges in applying change and improvement not only across different organisations, but also across cultures.
Aside from Agile/Scrum, her interests include food, traveling, surfing gaming, and sitting in cafes reading books.
