How being a "Lazy Trainer" is the best for learners
90 Mins
Workshop
Beginner
Yes, I have to admit that I am a "Lazy Trainer" because you will be the active creators of your own learning experience to learn how to teach, instead of the outdated approach "Trainers talk - Learners Listen".
Have you ever participated in a training or workshop and after few days you don't remember too much of it, you don't know how to apply what you learned or you feel that it wasn't effective?
The answer is because usually learners are passively sitting watching Powerpoint slides, listening the trainer to talk but they aren't learning too much due to the outdated approach.
This session is an introduction to the famous "Training from the Back of the Room" from Sharon Bowman. This approach encourages people to be active creators of their own learning experience through a four-step model for engaging learners called the 4Cs:
- Connections: Connect the learners to what they already know
- Concepts: Share new information in multisensory ways. hearing, seeing, writing, etc
- Concrete Practice: Learners actively practice the new skills
- Conclusions: Learners summarise what they have learned
Using the Training from the Back of the Room I can guarantee that you will have highly engaged learners that will do most of the talking, allowing them to learn by doing.

Agile Coaching Hats - a conversation tool to gain shared alignment
30 Mins
Interactive
Intermediate
The Agile Coaching Hats is a lean approach to contract with your teams and have a shared alignment that will help you to kick off the conversations with your teams on the right foot.
Usually the coach’s experience or gut feel tells which hat (Also called coaching stance) to wear for a specific situation or context. The Agile Coaching Hats leverage on that through a collaboration game that enables great conversations to meet the expectations of the team and avoid any surprises around the coach’s approach to support the coachee’s.

Designing Agile Organisations and Solving Inefficiencies created in Each Design
30 Mins
Talk
Advanced
Organisational structures are an important part of any agile transformation and their design implies managing trade-offs due to the inefficiencies that can be created in each model.
In this session we will explore organisation structure designs for large organisation and the compromises or inefficiencies when organisational design patterns are applied to certain existing circumstances and the most common workarounds and solutions.
Some of the inefficiencies that are going to be explored in this talk are linked to dependency management, performance management and prescriptive approaches.
We will understand the importance of the Value Stream Mapping for effective organisational design and common workarounds to solve the issues created by the designs such as Bear Hug, Pre and Post PI Planning, Pop-up squads among others.

Say Less and Ask More Questions
90 Mins
Workshop
Beginner
Do you spend a lot of your time trying to solve people’s problems? What if you could learn a simple tool that you could use to help them learn to solve these problems for themselves? A tool that would enable team members to think more creatively and take more ownership of their work. By using coaching conversations to provide support and feedback, you can help individuals or teams to make sustainable changes and improve their effectiveness.
This workshop is based on the Wall Street Journal bestseller The Coaching Habit by Michael Bungay Stainer. You will learn and practice his seven essential questions to help you coach people to find their own solutions to their problems.
