Dr. Hannah Thinyane is an experienced researcher, with over 13 years’ experience at the intersections of digital technology and international development. Her research focuses on how people from low-income countries can use mobile and internet-enabled services to enhance their agency. She researches system design, interaction techniques, and policy issues; as well as methods to assess and evaluate development outcomes. At United Nations University, Institute on Computing and Society (UNU-CS) she heads the Migrant Technology Project, which focuses on the use of technology by low-skilled and semi-skilled migrants to enable them to enhance their working conditions.
