One of the questions that many people working in large enterprises have is: how do I scale agile or scrum? There are quite some scaling frameworks out there today.

The question that not all the frameworks (and consultants implementing the framework) answer, is: how does the scaled framework combine with distributed teams?

Most frameworks favor collocated teams. And of course that's a lot easier. But today's reality is that teams are spread out all over the world. This adds complexity in terms of communication, culture, tools, roles and more.

In this session we'll share some hands on experience using LeSS and SAFe (scaled agile).

We offer a distributed agile canvas that can be used in combination with the scaling frameworks. You'll leave with practical tips and tools.

In this workshop, we're going to do a big experiment combining distributed collaboration with a scaled setup, while learning about different agile concepts. We will work in teams to create a presentation about a chosen agile concept, which provides people a deep learning experience about the concept. We're going to see how an enterprise can combine different agile concepts. And we get hands on experience working with many teams (scaled), seperated by 2 geographical locations.

In Hugo’s workshop, participants will create a best practice board in teams of 5-6 people. The teams go through each block of ‘The Bridge Canvas’. The goal is to share best practices, ideas and experiences. Per block, each team selects the ‘best best practice’. At the end of the workshop, each team will present the best best practices for each block.

At the start of the workshop, Hugo shares a few best practices (personal ones + from other distributed agile experts). Each person gets a handout with clear instructions. This includes some questions to stimulate thinking within the team + some best practice examples per block.
