Jilly built her first website in 1994 and was in the ‘right place at the right time’ to start a web career.
After working at Qantm youthworks, Jilly spent over a decade working for Qld Government departments and agencies, and co-chaired the Qld Gov Accessibility and Usability Special Interest group (AUSIG).
As the web matured, she specialised in writing for web and plain language, IA, usability and accessibility while leaving the coding and server admin to specialists. Jilly is also well known for tackling the huge projects - no project has been too big.
In mid 2010, Jilly joined the QUT Web Redevelopment Project team as the Content Team Leader (turn more than 1000 websites into 3!) and she truly enjoyed working with a large team of web professionals committed to implementing many best practices.
Since QUT, Jilly has continued contracting, including:
- Brisbane Catholic Education, managing the 3rd largest SharePoint implementation in Australia, servicing 137 schools who each have 4 websites
- Redlands Council website redev
- Delivering new intranet for CBA Group - One.CBA, in-house built CMS with first of kind music metaphor content model.
