K. Michele Bumbary
Michele Bumbary has more than 20 years of leadership, managerial and technical experience supporting mission-critical software development programs for Intelligence Community (IC) and prior military experience as an officer in the U.S. Air Force. She has held key program positions, including Program Manager, Project/Release Manager, Increment Manager, Change Manager, Subcontracts Program Manager, Quality Control (SP&QC) Manager. In each of these leadership roles, the aggressive resolution of issues and timely generation of options for problem resolution has been a key component. Ms. Bumbary is particularly skilled in these areas, receiving consistent and positive feedback from management and customers alike for her ability to stay on top of and quickly resolve all issues placed in her path. Her communication skills are exemplary, contributing to the ability to discuss and explain options to team members and customers for program paths forward, ensuring the impact of each option is clearly stated and understood.
As Project Engineering Manager and Program Manager, she led an agile development team in several successful program deliveries to the customer. As Program Manager, Ms. Bumbary is now implementing enterprise agile methodologies on program. Her track record for successful deployments is exceptional, including transition/deployment leadership on such programs. She has vast experience with the DoD approved EVMS process, both as a Program/Project Manager and as a Cost Account Manager. As Program Manager and Project/Release Manager, Ms. Bumbary was a critical participant in the Risk and Opportunity Management Board (ROMB), developing a mastery of this process. Ms. Bumbary is a registered and current Project Management Professional (PMI-PMP Number: 1578805). She holds both a B.S and M.E. in Systems Engineering from the University of Virginia, an M.S. in Computer Science from Villanova University, and is actively pursuing a Ph.D. in Systems Engineering from George Washington University which is expected to complete in 2016.
During Ms. Bumbary’s illustrious career, she has become an expert in managing the execution and transition of software development projects. Ms. Bumbary also has extensive experience managing subcontractors and subcontractor teams.
