Every week or so someone asks me about the different ways to earn a crust in this world. This is probably related to the growth in contract work and the gig economy coupled with large organisations taking fewer 'perms' on.

This would be some sort of panel or facilitated Q&A group work.

Specifically we'll talk about the all the taboo stuff. The strikes and gutters of the four different options, we'll talk about the effect on dynamics between the person and the organisation and we'll even talk about money.

Something about Service Design like, research, front and back stage design and strategic influence

And then something Systems like boundaries, homeostasis and feedback loops.

And then something about the relationship between the two; service design does not do everything, system boundaries can be helpful, homeostasis might make introducing service design hard, feedback loops can inform service design and service design can inform systems.

Something something blah blah with real world example(s) and a group exercise.

A ridiculous workshop where you'll work in small teams following Design Thinking to deliver a zombie apocalypse survival canvas for your customer. You'll experience what it's like to empathise through a customer interview, create a persona, ideate as a team and test your prototype with your customer.

Design Council's 'Double Diamond' model requires teams to shift between divergent thinking and convergent thinking with regular cadence. But what does that actually feel like and how do we do it?

In this session we'll play some Improv games together that prime divergent thinking (creating options), convergent thinking (making decisions) and the pivot point between the two.

This is a participatory session with a pinch of theory and whole lot of game playing.
