Traditional (Fixed Scope) Firm-Fixed-Price (FFP) Contracts have shown to be problematic when implementing agile development. In this presentation, we will review multiple Non-Traditional FFP contracting approaches and how they facilitate the adoption of Scrum. All of the contracting approaches we will review have been operationally applied at a federal agency over the course of a 24-month period. We will discuss the workload shift (contractor-to-government or government-to-contractor) depending on the Non-Traditional FFP contract type selected and the contracts overall impact on the agile software development efforts. The presentation will be presented by the Contracting Officers Representative (COR) for the FFP contracts. If you have ever wondered how or if FFP contracts can be used for agile development, this presentation is for you.
