I have worked in the IT industry since finishing university back in the mid-1990s. I started as a Developer and progressed to Development Lead and Development Manager. Over the past 12 years I have worked in a variety of roles which have included work as an agile practitioner. This has been my main focus over the past 5 years. Over this time I have learnt a lot about frameworks, methodologies and most importantly personal connections, leadership and culture. I look to support people and teams to be the best version of themselves they want to be, in turn they support products and customers.

Many scrum masters will use metrics to help guide their teams. Measures such as velocity, burn downs, burn ups, cumulative flow can provide useful for planning and feedback on how a team is progressing. However metrics can do so much more, they can help the team tell their story, influence decisions beyond their immediate reach and provide creative insights on how the team works and what makes them unique.
