I'm a Leadership and Agile Coach with a passion for Organizational Physics. I run my own coaching firm and am currently working as a Director, Agile Catalyst for the Agile transformation team at Bank of Montreal. I'm quite intrigued by the psychology of work spaces and am continuously learning more about how people and organizations behave and why.

Organizational Physics - What can we learn from Newton?

Physics is everywhere - I'm sure you've heard that. If you're an engineer or simply an unexplainably logical person, this conversation is meant for you!
Physics is one of the most fundamental scientific disciplines, and its main goal is to understand how the universe behaves. Physics is one of the oldest academic disciplines and, through its inclusion of astronomy, perhaps the oldest discipline overall.Given the above, it's amazing how physics has been minimally explored in its impact to organizational behaviour and structure. Being an engineer, I was curious and have been exploring how the laws of physics impact the maturity of agile and the organizational culture. I look forward to sharing this information with you in a fun and engaging way!

Are you afraid of trying new things because you don't want to risk failure? Do you create an environment where your peers, direct reports or children are afraid of failure? If you answered yes to any of those, you're brave!
Come join me in exploring ways to become stronger at experimenting and learning and creating environments where others can too!
We all know that Agile will fail without a Learning mindset. But, what does it mean to have a learning or growth mindset? I will explore some learnings by Carol Dweck and David Colcleugh and some of my own personal experiences around how the growth mindset has impacted my life and the lives of people around me.

We all learn from the past, but how many times does history repeat itself? Why do we forget to appreciate the important people in our lives and take the things they do for us for granted? Why can’t we improve our relationships in a safe environment free from judgement?
We set out on a journey to discover how a retrospective can be used in personal lives in an attempt to understand their impact outside of scrum teams. We recruited participants who were willing to try retrospectives with their partners, roommates, family and friends and share the results with us. The findings were slightly unexpected and quite inspiring.
In this session, we will share these findings, and take the attendees through some interactive activities to try retrospectives in their personal lives. -
