Rochelle Kopp is a management consultant who works with Japanese companies doing business globally and global companies doing business in Japan. Her specialties include communication skills, leadership, cross-cultural management, organizational development and human resource management. She also has a particular interest in helping Japanese companies understand and learn from Silicon Valley.
Rochelle is the author of The Rice-Paper Ceiling: Breaking Through Japanese Corporate Culture, Business Etiquette Japan, the upcoming Creating Engaged Employees in Japan, and twenty-five books in Japanese including 『日本企業の社員は、なぜこんなにモチベーションが低いのか』、『グローバル エリート 世界で成功する英語力とビジネスを身につける方法』、and『反省しないアメリカ人をあつかう方法３４』. She is also co-author of Valley Speak: Deciphering the Jargon of Silicon Valley, the definitive guide to the unique words used in the Bay Area tech and startup scene -- from unicorns to pivoting to growth hacking and more (also published in Japanese as 『シリコンバレーの英語 スタートアップ天国のしくみ』）.
Rochelle holds a B.A. in History from Yale University and an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago's Graduate School of Business. She speaks, reads and writes Japanese fluently.
