I am working as the Director (Programs and Projects) of Shakti Vahini, a national level anti trafficking organization in India having its international reputation in the field of women and child rights. I have long been active in the movement of Anti Human Trafficking in India. My diverse responsibilities involve implementation and monitoring of various programmes and projects on women rights and child rights, Training, preparation of various modules and SOPs, campaigns, partner relations. I have been associated with Shakti Vahini since 2008. I have received my Master in Mass Communication and Journalism in 2005 and Master in Social Work in 2010.
As a Director (Programmes and Projects) I am heading the Trafficking in Persons (JTIP) Projects being implemented to strengthen the Govt. of India in its fight against Human Trafficking. Heading the Anti Trafficking and Justice project in North Bengal supported by European Union. Heading the Child Helpline (1098) Programme in Gurgaon supported by Ministry of Women and Child Development, Government of India.
I was selected as the visiting scholar in Texas Christian University, Texas, USA in 2014. I spoke on the issue of human Trafficking with the students of the Department of Child Development, Mass Communication, Political Science and also the University senior officers. I also was the speaker on Anti Human Trafficking in a public lecture in Texas Christian University.
Over the last 10 years I have served in various grass roots organizations. I have extensively worked in the research projects of Shakti Vahini on Anti Human Trafficking and is the instrumental in maintaining police partnership of source, transit and destination and victim support. I have been the part of various rescue operation in the red light districts and witness in the court cases in which convictions happened.
