I am the Chief Technology Officer & Co-founder at Haptik, one of the world’s largest conversational AI platforms. I overse the entire engineering function at Haptik which includes product development, scalability, and future vision from a technology and product perspective. Apart from this, I focus on the culture at Haptik. I am consistently working on new and innovative ways to make it one of the best places to work at.
Under my leadership, Haptik has been able to distinguish itself from any other player in the market thanks to its underlying tech backbone. The company also recently received the AWS Mobility Award for Deep Tech in Mobility. I believe that technology will play an immense role in the company achieving its mission of becoming the world’s largest chatbot player in the next five years.
Mint and MIT Technology Review, published by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), announced me as one of the Top 10 Innovators Under 35 from India in 2018.
After having started his career with Accenture as a technology consultant, I left the coveted job for a start-up in Silicon Valley called Radius Intelligence. Here, I was one of the first few engineers helping build business automation tools for marketing and sales professionals. A computer engineer from the University of Illinois, Urbana Champaign, USA, I also develop indie mobile apps as a passion. My biggest success so far has been SnakeClassic which was ranked as the #4 app on the App Store in 2010. Interestingly, I have been building chatbots before the term was even officially coined. I scaled them to handle more than 2-3 million requests a month, at a time when the concept was novel across the world.
I love coding, and indie game development is one of his favourite hobbies. Rock climbing and traveling are amongst his other interests.

Conversational Agents (Chatbots) are machine learning programs that are designed to have conversation with a human to help them fulfill a particular task. In recent years people have been using chatbots to communicate with business, help get daily tasks done and many more.
With the emergence of open source softwares and online platforms building a basic conversational agent has become easier but making them work across multiple domains and handle millions of requests is still a challenge.
In this talk I am going to talk about the different algorithms used to build good chatbots and the challenges faced to run them at scale in production.
