Mental model map for customer delight
20 Mins
Experience Report
Advanced
The recent Annual State of Agile survey shows that Agile has become the cure-all to improve software delivery and Agile adoption is at an all-time high now. But still most of the organizations are not satisfied with the output they are getting and does that mean Agile is failing?
Based on stats, most of the challenges that organizations facing are
- Change in mindset
- Continuous delivery
- Customer satisfaction
Above all, not aware about what to improve, where to improve & how to improve.
So, it is evident that they have a greater difficulty in not just communicating but also in executing ‘Vision to Value’ which means there is a value gap.
And Agile manifesto says ‘Our highest priority is to satisfy the customer’ but in this highly competitive world a mere customer satisfaction is enough? I strongly propose a change to the 1st principle of Agile manifesto.
Our highest priority should be to delight the customer
Because satisfaction means joy, but delight means extreme happiness. If customer is delighted, they can refer and bring in more business.
We talked about value gap and now we are discussing about customer. What is the connection? Customer is the one who drives business and organizations can realize value.
Most of the Agile practitioners talk only about Agile principles and only a few experts talk about engineering practices & other techniques, but no one talks in detail about the connection between them. This paper shares a mental model in establishing the relationship between agile principles, practices and other techniques which helps teams and organizations in producing customer delight.

Information radiators help us take better decisions in the value stream and agility comes to life. But do all information radiators help us to take better decisions? In this presentation, we share some light on what all information radiators have helped us take better decisions in our journey as Scrum masters by highlighting some boons and banes. We also cover guidelines, benefits and also list "Minimum lovable information radiators(MLIR)" that can help us be more agile each and every day.
Are all the information radiators meant for every one in the organization?
Towards the end of session a 15 min workshop will focus on answering above question and how we can bring role based accountability to make information radiators more effective and Boon to the organization.

Are you delivering "VALUE" to customer? - PLS DO SIR
45 Mins

What keeps a business ticking? Customer value.
- Do you know that 75% of consumers are willing to pay more if they love the product?
- Have you realized that around 60% of features in a product are rarely or never used.
With this, it is evident that users do not buy or use all that you build and they pay more if they love it. Hence it is important to plan, prioritize and produce as per customer value. But what makes a product lovable and how to win customers?
In this session, I am going to discuss in detail about the new techniques i.e. "PLS DO SIR" which I have implemented with 10+ Scrum teams, how to make a product lovable, how asking the right questions helped us in uncovering issues, how to build undaunted teams and when to engage customers.
You can deliver great "VALUE" to your customer if you can take care of the above.

We all know ‘Smoking is injurious to health’ but in this session we are going to discuss about ‘How SMOKING is injurious to teams’ health’ and how Scrum Master can help the team in quitting 'SMOKING'.
- Are you satisfied with mediocre or above par performance? No?
- Do you need the best out of everyone? Yes?
- Have you ever realized about the bad practices that crept in. Yes or No?
We have brainstormed with more than 30 Scrum teams and collated the SMOKING patterns which are behavioral anti-patterns. So, in this session we are going to discuss in detail about tried and tested recommendations to trash those SMOKING anti-patterns (team behavioral anti-patterns) with which we can increase efficiency and also break the monotony in Scrum events.

- Where do we stand w.r.t. customer experience?
- How to assess the maturity of our Agile processes?
- How Agile helps us in driving customer delight?
This session answers all the above questions by proposing the following:
- Assess your customer experience by calculating Customer Experience Maturity Index (CXMI)
- Assess the maturity of Agile process by calculating Agile Maturity Index (AMI)
- Hardening Index (HI) and Happiness Index (HI)
- Model drive customer delight.
This presentation will provide calculators, experiences and suggestions in achieving customer delight.
