Von Rhea started the Agile / Scrum journey in 2004 with Corporate Express. At that time the development methodology was documented in a 5" binder with new processes being added frequently! Von introduced Agile / Scrum to his various development teams as well as management, and held various roles within Corporate Express and Staples (which purchased Corporate Express). After the Staples merger, Von managed the Corporate Financial Systems teams until a role was created around introducing Agile/Scrum into the greater Staples organization.
From there he went to GHX in Louisville, Colorado, and continued to manage development teams, introducing the concept of the SAFe principles / Release Trains as well as enhanced product management approaches for the organization. Von continues to introduce Agile / Scrum, and now DevOps, in his current role at Trimble. He manages teams around the world and is using both Scrum and DevOps to bring the various teams and cultures together for consistency.
