This online workshop will take place over three days, leaving time in between to work on exercises. Please plan to attend all three sessions:

Have you facilitated retrospectives, and found it difficult to engage people, to motivate people, to make people participate, to make people listen to you and to each other? Join Aino in this workshop on retrospective facilitation. She will base the workshop on your challenges and give you activities, tips and pointers on how to get a skill-set that makes retrospectives useful, and fun. We will touch on subjects such as body language, psychology, team building, decision making, structuring meetings in general, and distributed retrospectives, based on Aino's experience and research.
The workshop style will be attendee-driven, anecdote-filled and (hopefully) fun!
Outline/Structure of the Workshop
The outline of the course is:
1. module: (2 hours) Tuesday 6 October
Aino gives an overview of the content and we create a plan for what to focus on based on your expectations. Initially the plan is to focus on body language, psychology, team building, decision making, structuring meetings in general, and common challenges in retrospectives.
2. module: (2 hours) Thursday 8 October
Aino shares anecdotes about online retrospectives, and based on these anecdotes she focuses on different patterns and antipatterns (lack of body language, brainstorm online, decision making online, how to follow up when you are not colocated afterwards, how to make sure everyone is heard, etc ). We will look at different technologies to support different retrospectives.
3. module: (2 hours) Wednesday 21 October
Attendees who have prepared an activity will facilitate this activity using everyone else present as attendees. They will get feedback from Aino and the rest of the group on choice of activity, explanation of activity, facilitation skills, and interaction.
